I woke up from bed without inspiration. My mind took me into my past. The good old days so to speak. It took me a while to get over that feeling of past. "Let's do some programming" I thought. But no...I couldn't. I had no inspiration. So I took the easy way. I watched YouTube. I started with a Ted talk of 15 minutes. It was informative. It was planned except what's about to come. YouTube is a mysterious place. You never know what YouTube algorithm is going to recommend you. That's why you never know how the coming hours of your day is going to be like. It can be literally anything around the globe that could catch your attention. It can be "Brett Lee's fastest delivery", it can be "kapil sharma's latest comedy", it can be "a controversial debate in republic tv", it can be "a singer who went viral" or it can be "Sadhguru's philosophy". I was dreaming in my sleep. I don’t recall the subject matter but I am sure it was a pleasant dream. “Cring Cring……..Cring Cring” my phone rings which I have placed at a distance far away from arms length. I woke up reluctantly & crawled to the phone. It was Banti, my friend. Did I pick the call? No, I didn’t. I returned to my dream & slept 2 more hours & finally woke up at 9am.   It all started in the first year of engineering while watching TWILIGHT, the vampire story. I downloaded all the 5 movies, watched them in 2 days & loved them. Although I was not satisfied with the last 2 parts, I loved the setting, the breezy atmosphere & the romantic scenes. After watching them I felt something I had never felt before. I was in love with Bella right from the first movie until one my friend told me that the actress is a lesbian, then I had kind of a mixed feeling about her. But I loved the movies nevertheless. I was so infatuated in love that I started googling about the films for more details. That’s when I knew that these films were all based on a series of fantasy novels by Stephanie Meyer. Before that I had no prior knowledge of any sort on what a novel is or why to even bother to read them. But that’s the day something changed in me. Then I moved to Amazon & I was overwhelmed by the amounts & varieties of novels I found there. I spent hour...

Step 1 :  Pick a book of your interest. Step 2 :  Grab a seat where nobody disturbs you.    Step 3 :  Start reading...word by word, sentence by sentence, page by page. Step 4 :  Finish the book  Step 5 : Bring another book & Recycle this process REGULARLY. That's how you become a lifetime reader... You see....it's simple.. 

Story 1 : Thousands of engineering colleges. Lakhs of Graduates coming out every year. 80% goes unemployed. 20% enter into Corporate jobs, PSUs, Teaching & Other fields. Out of 20% only 15% survive in long term. 5% leave for being unable to cope up with the work load & office environment. Story 2 : Artificial Intelligence is on a roll these days. Job sector is using technology in leaps & bounds, providing  automated solutions to its complex socioeconomic problems. Unsurprisingly, employees who are less compatible with technology are more likely to get evicted in coming years. What basically these 2 stories suggest ? On one side we have piles & piles of unemployed engineers ; on the other side we have an emergency that is gradually threatening the position of engineers who are already employed. Seems like a bad sign for our engineers. Isn't it ? But wait....Is there any opportunity under these grim circumstances that we are overlooking ? I would say ...

I know, you know, Everybody know…We are fighting a severe health emergency. Let’s call ourselves fighters for that reason. Yeah…we are COVID-19 fighters. And here is the fun part. Unlike other fights, we are fighting this crisis just by staying at home. We are fighting by taking time off from work. We are fighting by not going outside. We are fighting by staying updated about the preventive measures we can take. We are fighting by spreading awareness among family members. We fighting by sharing funny-yet-informative memes on Facebook & WhatsApp status. So undoubtedly, we are giving a tough fight to corona just by staying at home. So cheers to us. It's quite baffling to think how badly we do things that we are not aware of. There are few things we do without which we can't even imagine our life just like sleeping, reading, drinking, eating etc. If I move one step upward there are things like meditating, focusing, communicating, which are a little deeper or psychological sort of things. But the problem is nobody has taught us how to do them in the best way possible. We do them in our own arbitrary ways which yield mostly unproductive outcomes. It's funny how our parents & teachers insist us to read & get education in schools & colleges, without teaching us about the primary demand of education; which is "LEARNING." Nobody has taught us "How to learn?" or "How to focus ?" while study.
