Weird Translations of Marvel & DC Characters

This is going to be some weird fun. I bet.  However, before coming into the center of our topic, which is weird translations, I would say one thing : "Stan Lee was Brilliant. No doubt about that. The way he has woven those characters & the extent of their relatability to people around the world is simply insane." As classy his own name (STAN LEE) sounds, his characters sound equally classy when you speak them aloud.  Now if we talk about the other side of the table, which is the dark DC, their characters have their appeal as well. Saying "Flash" gives nothing short of a mini adrenaline rush. Now we will see how these flowery names sound, once translated into a different language (in this case ODIA).  So without further ado, let's jump into the center.  Marvel Characters: 1) Pimpudi Manisa  2) Kala Bagha   3) Budhiani Manisa  4) Advuta Daktara  5) Pruthalakaya  6) America ra Adhinayaka  7) Drusti Shakti  8) Bichitra Adhinayika ...

A Goat Story

It was a beautiful day in the forest. A goat gave birth to her child. She quickly washed her child in her mouth. She was hungry. So she went ahead to arrange food. She observed her child is following her from behind. She was amazed. Then she kept moving forward searching for food. A lake blocked the road. The water current was high. She waited for a while until her child joined. Then she started crossing the river  The child was not sure whether she can cross it or not. Finally she could not hold the temptation & landed in the river. Her mother was a fierce animal. The water current was nothing for her. So she kept moving forward. But her child was timid. Her steps were shivering in cold. Then she started to swim but couldn't. Slowly water swept her farther from her mother. While she is struggling, she started to scream for help from her mother. But her voice was hardly audible in the roaring water.  After mother goat crossed the lake, she arrived on the land & looked ...

Midnight River..

He was the last man except me who was alive. I befriended him in the river bank. That night we killed a tortoise, put it in fire & ate like an ape. I knew those men will come back to hunt him down. So i packed his stuff & told him to leave that place. He denied. I forced him. When he agreed his eyes were flooding with pain. The imminent threat of crossing the river pulled him down into grief. Alas ! There was no other way. The mid night moon was shining in full flame & its reflection upon the river was a  visual treat. As he looked beyond the river the dark mangrove trees were all he could see. He stood near the river bank for a moment, absorbed the prevailing silence around the atmosphere & jumped into the river. I was on the bank gazing my attention upon him crossing the river. 2 minutes gone. Then nothing was visible. I looked again into the water & all I could see was blood red liquid spiralling down like a tornado.

The Golden Science Exhibition of The Decade : Story of a Son

It was the most coveted event of the school : Science exhibition 2020. Students, from all over the state, mushroomed the entire park displaying projects of vivid colors. Some students were anxious, some were serious while some were with a smiley face. But what's common in everyone was the urge to explain their project to the chief guest who was about to arrive around 10 AM. Usually it's a norm to welcome the guest with garland of flowers & huge applause, but that day it didn't happen. The chief guest was late. Around 11.30 AM the guest, Mr. Das, a senior researcher from CSIR, arrived on a car & came straight to visit the stalls avoiding the formal welcoming gesture from school authorities. There were 30 stalls circled along the periphery of the park & Mr. Das along with few teachers wasted no time in starting the journey from one end.  Mr. Das being an observant & decisive researcher quickly transitioned from one stall to another. He would ask what the pr...

How to Beat Misinformation ?

Who doesn't like a good story ? When you are a child you get stories from your grand parents, in your boyhood you get stories from Television & in your adolescence you are literally bombarded with Movies & TV series. I myself watched around 700 films only in engineering & I have heard people who have crossed 2000 mark too. So what's so special about stories that resonates so well with everyone despite all our differences ? Flavour. In desi language, Masala. Only a handful of people truly knew what happened to Sanjay Dutt untill "Sanju" released in theaters & whole India started googling about the Incident. I doubt even our parents knew about Titanic. But now that James Cameron directed "Titanic" with pitch perfect fictionalization, whole world knows the what, when & how related to that incident.  Nobody is a fan of Doordarshan when it comes to news. Because it only presents news but we want entertainment too. So to meet our demand news ...

The Face of Frustration

There is never a time when I have not enjoyed Math. Atleast that was my idea when i was in class 10. Then I came to +2 & faced a chapter called "permutation & combination" which gave me a blow hard enough to snatch my earlier idea. I hated it from top to bottom. Later on I faced "probability" in 2nd year which made me feel even worse. Somehow I was successful in consoling myself that I was still good in math especially in "relation & function" which holds an elite reputation among all chapters.  When I joined CET for B-Tech I was in ecstasy because I no longer have to frustrate myself with probability again. But my joy lasted for a year when I came to know that in GATE exam there is rarely a time when a question from probability is not asked. It was hard to digest. Later on I thought joining Made Easy might help. So I did that in 3rd year for a 2 year programme just like most of my classmates did. Did it change anything ?  Ofcourse no, other...

From Quick to Less Quick : A Commentary on YouTube

I woke up from bed without inspiration. My mind took me into my past. The good old days so to speak. It took me a while to get over that feeling of past. "Let's do some programming" I thought. But no...I couldn't. I had no inspiration. So I took the easy way. I watched YouTube. I started with a Ted talk of 15 minutes. It was informative. It was planned except what's about to come. YouTube is a mysterious place. You never know what YouTube algorithm is going to recommend you. That's why you never know how the coming hours of your day is going to be like. It can be literally anything around the globe that could catch your attention. It can be "Brett Lee's fastest delivery", it can be "kapil sharma's latest comedy", it can be "a controversial debate in republic tv", it can be "a singer who went viral" or it can be "Sadhguru's philosophy". Now you are without inspiration. Next moment you watch a sadhu...
